The symposium on Kidnapping, Hijacking and Terror with a presentation of a new journal on counterterrorism will hold tomorrow at the University of Ibadan conference center, starting by 9a: m.
The Global Alternative Agenda is organizing the program to raise awareness among the populace on security with reference to kidnaping and terrorism.
The expected participants are: Government leaders and managers: (Local, State and Federal), Security Personnel (Intelligence, Law enforcement agencies and Military); Members of Academic Communities, including students; Emergency responders (Fire Service, Medics,); Business Executives: Banks and Industries; Concerned citizens and Faith-based organizations, Politicians and political leaders; Members of Civil Societies and the Media.
The commissioner of Police and the Director of the State Security Services in Oyo State will be the lead discussants with a focus on situational awareness and understanding.
Mr. Moshood Erubami, a human rights activist and immediate past president of the Election Monitoring Group of Nigeria is scheduled to be a lead speaker on the role of the civil society organizations while other discussants will focus on: social media exploitation, forecasting, warning and strategic assessment.
Dr. Adeniran, the chairman of the Security Council of the University of Ibadan will discuss Campus Security and public safety in the era of terrorism while Hon. Sunday Adepoju of the Federal House of Resentatives will explain how the legislation can be used to mitigate crimes in our society.
Other confirmed participants are Mr. Edmund Obilo of Splash FM, Comrade Miriki Ebikibina, a National youth leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria and Comrade Jude Imagwe, Senior Special Assistant to Nigeria president.
